The Wild Within is an ongoing body of work that reimagines historically significant and often abandoned architectural spaces.
Beginning with research, Koopmans & Wexell travel the world to capture original photography before returning to the studio to digitally sculpt vegetation, model flowers, refine the architectural images, and introduce motion into the scenes, with the intention of bringing life back into the rooms.
The resulting works present a surreal collision between past and future, nature and the human-made, the physical and the digital, and the real and the imaginary.

Widely exhibited and critically recognized, the series is held in major institutional and private collections.
